from where I stand…
my side of a bed that was moved from
one wall to another,
after I got into a cleaning frenzy
picking up after the messy cat,
Scott had asked for the bed to be moved for awhile,
so this seemed like a good as time as any
and it gave me a chance to clean under every piece of
furniture as I moved everything around trying to get it all to fit,
it was like a life size tetris game.
and all was well until Scott pointed out
that he has always slept on the left side,
for 20 years, 10 months, 8 homes, always on the left.
huh? who knew.
well it won’t be a big deal, right?
I was cranky, home with a sick boy all day,
so he wasn’t going to argue with me.
well, it lasted all of 45 minutes,
Scott was tossing and turning,
and I was struggling to get comfortable,
so after a whole lot of huffing and puffing (on my end)
we switched, and it was an instant ahhhhhhh
apparently I sleep on the right.
my name is dee-ann…
photographer. change agent. believer. dreamer. storyteller.
oh yeah, I also like chocolate cake.
my one little word for 2013 is “zoom”
I need to remember to ZOOM in (the details) and ZOOM out (the big picture).
ZOOM in when I spend time with my family
ZOOM out and remember my larger community
ZOOM in when I make environmental choices at home
ZOOM out and remember the larger life systems that I am trying to protect and even though the details at home are important I need to go further and look at the larger picture.
ZOOM in when I am immersed in my day to day
ZOOM out and reflect on what is happening in the world
ZOOM in when solving an issue and look at the details
ZOOM out and analyze the impact the solution has on the larger scale.
as well, it will reminds me to keep moving, zoom zoom.
